    Description

A rare CM 11 Julian Large 57mm size copper coin or medallion celebrating the 1876 centennial set in a late 19th century 4" diametersterling silver wine taster or porringer! Possibly converted as a souvenir of the Philadelphia Centennial Exposition, this large size copper coin is in very good shape with a few light scratches and minor blurring to facial features. The most significant "damage" is it was drilled to the obverse (does not go through) to fit a diamond chip which is now missing. The stepped rolled rim porringer or wine taster may be missing the tip of the handle. Probably about 4 ounces of silver, the piece weighs 8.1 avoir pour. A neat piece and maybe a rare souvenir of the 1876 Worlds Fair. Buyer to pay .00 priority shipping with insurance in the US.
