Description
Let me start off saying this item was found on the east coast of the United States , the Maryland area to be exact. This is exactly the way I found it, I did absolutely nothing to it, I didn't try to restore it in any way, clean it ,or change it in any way . this item is over 135 years old, so it does have some stains , fading, use to it ,and damage to it, but that's to be expected for as old as this item is . Now I'm not an expert, on this item at all, but I believe this is a Centennial 1776 to 1876 World's Fair souvenir bandana, and a rare orange color, which is super cool. the issues are as follows this item does have tears on the bottom, stains, fading, and it is stapled to a cardboard back, so someone at one time had this hanging on the wall , which I think is kind of cool actually, it has a hook at the top , so they stapled this item to a cardboard back , I believe the Staples can come out very easily , if that's what you choose to do , but I can't guarantee that , but either way this is still a fantastic find , and a great collector's item . there's a lot of different things you can do with this item, you can restore it ,you can clean it up, you can put in a beautiful frame, or you can just leave it alone and add it to a really cool collection , either way I think this is a fantastic find . I think it would be a fantastic gift for any collector or any collection... please note I took the pictures with and without a flash , so you can see the different color of this item, and the different look it gives you. the cardboard with the bandana is approximately 26 inches by 22 inches , but the bandana is folded over a little bit on each side so it's actually a little bit longer..... this fantastic item has George Washington in the left corner , Grant in the right corner, it has the art gallery in Philadelphia , a picture of the main building ,and the Horticulture building, it's a really cool fantastic image on a bandana , extremely well made obviously, because it's lasted so long. On the bottom left corner it says these United Colonies are of right ought to be free and independent states 1776 which is pretty cool, and on the right corner it says in commemoration of the hundredth anniversary of American independence, and the bottom of that part is a is missing , but it's still a fantastic and great item , and I hope this goes to a fantastic collector , Who will enjoy this like I did. There's a few of these out there, not too many, and I've seen prices anywhere from 0 to 0, so I think this is pretty fair price. Please make sure and take a look at ALL the pictures, and if you have any questions at all, or need more pictures, feel free to contact me. This is definitely the only one that I have, and the only one I'll probably ever get. Thank you so much for looking and good luck....
