    Description

Measuring 67" tall, this copper flying eagle weathervane comes with the copper cupola roof cover that it has always stood on. The eagle has a 24" wingspan, 15" length from beak to tail, an open beak that shows its tongue and some bullet holes from someone using it for shooting practice. The directionals measure 18 1/2" x 18 1/2" and are attached to a 41" rod that slides into the spire on the cupola. The arrow measures 23" and the cupola base is 24" x 24" x 37" tall with one side having a rooftop outline cut from it. I was told this weathervane dates to the late 1800s, came from Vermont and has been in storage several years. There are scuffs, dents, some splits on the seams, bullet holes and creases - all of which are commonly found on pieces of this nature. There is also a great all-over patina. Because of the size and delicate nature of this piece it is being sold as a New Jersey Pick-Up with FREE DELIVERY to the Lambertville Antique Market in central New Jersey or the Hamburg Antique Center in northern New Jersey at a time to be agreed upon. I will also deliver it FREE OF CHARGE to the Warren County Antique Show in Phillipsburg, NJ on August 28 - 29. It is presently located in Denville, New Jersey - 5 miles north of Morristown.
