    Description

An Original Early 1900s Red Raised (not flat) Quilt Lightning Rod Ball in excellent condition . Made by the Saint Louis Lightning Protection Company in the early 1900’s. 5 inches wide and almost 5 1/2 inches tall with collars. The original collectible size of the ball is correct. Color tone is correct. Without high light it looks some towards black. Threaded type collars on it are original correct. First photo shows it with the sun directly behind it. There are no chips, cracks or repairs on this ball. Five photos, four all the way around are underneath the glued on cap to show that there are no chips on the collar. I also had ran a hook shaped piece of plastic all the way around directly underneath the collar. The collar is as smooth as glass, pun intended. Four photos are all the way around the body of the ball. Minute fleabites and roughness from the factory on the collar without a cap. I hate when people do that. Dishonest sellers and I’ve seen some ebayers with glued collars on so you cannot tell if it is a reproduction. But fortunately with these there are other ways to tell. I have collected Lightning rod balls for 25 years. I’m selling this one because I am afraid that somehow it will get damaged. I don’t need the super rare ones to be happy. The red is more rare then the silver. Indeed about as rare as the illusive burgoon balls. Most other popular red balls are no comparison in rarity to the original red raised quilt. I will pay Goin Postal personnel to examine, pack, mail and insure this ball. They will not insure it with any cracks or bad chips on it. That way we can both rest assured that there is no nonsense. They will ship it by FedEx and it will have to be signed for. FedEx is overall much safer with their packages. I will fully insure this ball for it’s sell price so no worries there. Thank you for looking.
