    Antique 1800's Vintage Jail / Prison Door Deadbolt Lock Cast Iron Civil War Era
    This is an antique prison door lock. It was from North Central CT and believed to have been from the Windsor/East Granby area and possibly the Old Newgate Prison. It is missing the through bolts that hold it together but there are fixed pins that work well to align the panels and keep the two sides together.  There is a key but it is not original and I was not able to get the key to work. The levers of the lock mechanism do move however and the deadbolt can be released by hand when the case is open. The springs are snappy and not broken. It weighs 14lbs and measures 9" x 6" x 1.75".
