    Description

    The 1864 Confederate note was printed by Keating & Ball, Columbia, SC on white paper with varying shades or pink/red overprint, the reverse is printed in blue ink. The center vignette displays the state capitol of Virginia along with C.G. Memminger at lower right who served as Secretary of the Treasury for most of the war. The note is payable two years after the ratification of a treaty of peace between the Confederate States and the United States.
