With other bait lures you do not know what it is you are using. It could just be honey and bees wax or unnatural compounds.
Swarm lures that contain attractant hormones are available from all of the bee supply vendors.  Some contain synthetically produced pheromones such as nasonov.  Many of these synthesized products may be effective but they have limited shelf life and must be stored in a freezer until used.
