    Description

M E Van Wert sold pianos, organs, and sheet music in addition to sewing machines.  This card measures about 2.75 by 5 inches.
The use of trade cards became widespread in the late 17th century, especially in London, Paris and Lyon. American
trade cards came later, after the Civil War. It wasn't until the late 19th century that collectors
became interested and the hobby became very popular, ensuring
the survival of many of these cards.
