    Description

This is a beautiful gift quality Police Gamewell.  It is re-manufactured in heavy aluminum from the original tooling used in the design of early 1900’s vintage New York Gamewell callboxes, and used by many police departments throughout the USA.  It is professionally finished with blue powder coating and hand highlighted with 18 Kt. Gold leaf.  I built, assembled, and finished this item from both new and available used parts.
wIt comes with a matching blue powder coated pedestal, a solid brass “911” number plate, 2 brass skeleton keys, a brass lock and a Cobalt blue glass Cage light with LED bulb
I have added a circa 1950’s working phone. The phone has been renovated and rewired with a modern modular plug. Phone is completely functional and plugs into your home land line jack.
The box measures 18” high by 12” wide by 5” deep, and weighs approx. 30 lbs The pedestal is adjustable to a maximum height of 5 feet and weighs approximately 35 lbs
Shipping will be two separate parcels from Fed Ex
It is a nice addition to your game/retirement room. It can be a great gift idea.
HISTORY:  Gamewells were very common in many police departments including mine (LAPD) and were produced originally by the Gamewell Co. out of New York and later out of Newton, Mass.  They were originally produced in the late 1800’s out of pig iron and contained telegraph later updated with rotary dial phones.  There are still a few in operation in the country but most departments retired them when cell phones became popular.  The mold in which yours was made is an original Gamewell mold and was used to produce many of the boxes used by the LAPD and many cities in the U S A
