RARE 1876 Centennial Memorial Hall 5 Color Jacquard-woven CoverletFive color Coverlet made in 1876 for the Centennial International Exposition in Philadelphia
Coverlet shows the Memorial Hall Art Gallery, flanked by two patriotic eagles
Above is a depiction of the statue of Lady Columbia that serves as the finial atop the domed cupula
She is positioned between two American flags
I read online that these coverlets were made at the Exposition and sold as souvenirs
At the top are the words CENTENNIAL each facing in the opposite direction
Along the bottom are the words MEMORIAL HALL
Along the side is the date 1776-1876
Measures 80" x 76"
