Description

This is an estate sale purchase from a person who was an avid bear collector.  It is a beautiful mohair jointed bear by Bera Hamburg.  It has a Bera Hamburg medallion around its neck.  It measures approximately 18" in overall height.  It is a beautiful light cream color.
The bear is loosely jointed (arms and legs move freely) and the head moves as well. The body is stuffed and also weighted at the bottom.  The hands and feet are also weighted.  The face on this bear is very detailed and beautifully done.  I believe it has shoe button eyes.  The nose is stitched.  The paws look to be made of some sort of short pile fabric (similar to velvet or possibly wool?).  Beautiful, rare bear that would make a great addition to anyone's collection.
As I understand it, this is a handmade bear, but I had a hard time finding anything about this company or possibly artist.  Beautiful bear that is in mint condition.  It would make a great addition to anyone's collection.  See photos for more information and feel free to email with any questions.
